Young people are asking questions, seeking a deeper connection to God, desiring to know the Truth. More and more, it becomes clear that what many were taught was Christianity is just a watered-down version of something deeper. A faith that has been alive for over 2,000 years has been in plain sight. It has been the misunderstanding of faith, loss of trust in authority, and love of individualism that has now burst. The younger generation yearns for Christ. Christ as Lord. Not a weekly motivational talk, but Truth. The fullness of Truth!

Humility “consists in keeping oneself within one’s own bounds, not reaching out to things above one, but submitting to one’s superior” (Summa Contra Gent., bk. IV, ch. lv, tr. Rickaby).

In the daily toils of life, we often find it difficult to lift our mind and soul to God. The task should not be burdensome, but rather consoling and providing us rest. It is a time to recollect from the business of life and rest in Him. I will give 5 recommendations to encounter God in any state of life.

Early in my spiritual life, I encountered a great book, Introduction to a Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales. The title itself drew me into curiosity with its simplicity. What was more shocking was the simplicity of the content. To be devout is to be animated by the love of God to do His will. 

To love and to be loved, what a beautiful gift it is. The purest love we can encounter is the love of God. Love freely, always.
